Danielle Young, a survivor turned coach who helps women break free from the victim mindset after abuse or trauma joins us for this episode of the You World Order Showcase podcast.
Danielle's story is one of unimaginable hardship, resilience, and ultimately, triumph. She is a testament to the power of healing and transformation, proving that even the darkest experiences can lead to a life filled with purpose, empowerment, and authenticity.
Danielle’s Story: Surviving the Unthinkable
Danielle’s journey began when she was just 18, drawn into a relationship with a man ten years her senior.
What started as infatuation quickly turned into a nightmare of control, jealousy, and abuse.
Over time, the emotional manipulation escalated to physical violence. One night, with a newborn baby in the house, Danielle's abuser nearly ended her life.
She managed to escape, arriving at her mother’s home covered in blood, with no memory of how she got there.
Despite seeking help, the justice system failed her—her abuser received little more than a slap on the wrist.
With no protection, she lived in constant fear, all while trying to rebuild her life for the sake of her child.
The Turning Point
At her lowest, Danielle contemplated giving up entirely. But a moment of clarity came while watching her sleeping baby—her daughter deserved better, and so did she.
With that realization, she made a choice: she would not let her past define her. She put herself through college, found stable employment, and created a new life, free from fear.
The Road to Healing
Traditional therapy did not resonate with Danielle, so she sought alternative healing methods.
Yoga became her sanctuary, a safe space where she could reconnect with herself. Later, she discovered powerful modalities such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and self-inquiry, which helped her address deeply rooted beliefs of unworthiness.
Yoga Nidra provided another layer of healing, allowing her to release trauma through guided meditation.
Through trial, error, and deep introspection, Danielle became the guide she had once needed. Now, she dedicates her life to helping other women reclaim their power, move beyond trauma, and embrace their authentic selves.
