The Biggest Struggle for Life, Health & Transformational Coaches
Trying to be the change they want to see in the world
As you may know, it’s my mission to help life, health and transformational coaches be the change they want to see in the world.
After the last few years of failing institutions, it’s my opinion that these coaches are stepping up to fill the gaping holes in health care - both mental & physical, left by the medical industrial complex and the general education system as a whole.
There are many people, who after finding a solution to their particular problem, got some training in one (or more) of the latest modalities and decided to help those still struggling with their particular problem. They became a coach because they are passionate about helping others overcome the very thing that they themselves struggled with.
After interviewing literally hundreds of these coaches, I can tell you a few things categorically.
We desperately need what they have to offer - These coaches are getting to the root of the problems not masking them with chemicals.
Even though they may be in the same niche/solving the same problem as another coach, they each solve the problem in a unique way.
And almost all of them suffer from this one problem themselves:
The struggle with being found.
Every coach I’ve ever spoken with just wants to help people solve the problem they, in most cases, suffered from themselves - not become entrepreneurs.
Their journey tends to follow this trajectory:
They get certified…
Then they get more certifications, hoping the more certified they have the more likely they will be to get clients. During this time, they will usually create a website (or hire someone to create one for them).
Next comes the litany of free offers (lead magnets that aren’t designed to attract the right kind of lead - if any lead at all) and try to build a list. After all we’ve been told
” The money is in the list” right?
And then webinars, workshops & groups; again, there is no strategy for progression involved just busy work for the coach that doesn’t involve actual coaching. And then comes the podcasts. Whether they are guesting or hosting podcasts themselves, they tend not to see benefits from this strategy because they aren’t approaching it intentionally.
What these coaches really need is a cohesive plan about how their coaching practice will look for them.
It really boils down to three things:
Clarity around the problem they solve & for whom they solve it. Craft an Offer You Ideal Client Can’t Resist
A marketing plan that is strategic and intentional (and might I add tracked, by that I mean collect the data around what they are doing). Use this Blueprint to Find Your Next Coaching Client
And an overarching business plan so they can know what they need to do to reach the income goals they are striving for. Use this formula to figure out how many contacts you need to make each day to meet your income goal
Many coaches miss this simple outline because of all the noise in the online marketing world.
Coaching, being relatively new, created a void for training them specifically how to market themselves in a way that aligns with who they are and the message they share.
Many of the strategies employed by online marketers don’t really work for them, or they get bits and pieces of the puzzle and can’t understand why what they are doing isn’t working for them.
The first step in the process is to get clarity around your offer. I’ve created a workbook that will allow you to Create an Offer Your Ideal Client Can’t Resist. Follow the 3 step simple process and you will have the initial building block of your practice laid in place.
