Nature shows us the truth about being consistent in everything we experience with her.
The seasons, astrology/astronomy (to me they are very connected) the rhythms of life, the wind, fire & water. Even the dirt beneath our feet.
Consistency produces change.
What we do as beings reflects this truth also.
We can be intentional without being perfect…
My Princess Consecrated to God Named After the Old Ladies in the Bible Who Had Children
My youngest daughter came to visit this weekend. Our conversations are always so mind bending. One of the subjects we touched on was to wonder what the alpha generation would think of gen z in years to come. (she’s a gen z and I’m a boomer)
We also discussed the ideals of perfectionism versus just getting things done and how being raised by me has impacted her and how she is creating her life.
My daughter embodies kindness, thoughtfulness, strength and intention. Her soul is much older than mine. I’ve always believed her to be a gift to me in my old age…
and though she is the last of 5 she is in many ways an only child.
(I was 44 when she was born)
Planning Versus Getting It Done
I on the other hand have always been a planner (okay, so worrier might be more accurate) who sees things coming and gets to it to get it …
fixed, done, checked off the list
Often not very intentionally, if I’m being honest, just good enough…
“a lick and a promise” as the old saying goes.
The Power of a Single Drop
I’m reminded of water that drips over time…
It can wear away stone.
As small consistent action over time if done strategically can produce incredible results. I suggest strategically because when done haphazardly, you will still get results, they just might not be what you expected or wanted.
And even if they are the results, you wanted you might not know how to replicate those results, as they were an accident.
There is a balance, I believe, between good enough and perfect.
That fulcrum is intentionality and strategy.
Setting an intention and then acquiring the skills to implement the strategies consistently to get the results you’re intending for. And then looking for evidence of success along the way. Tweaking the strategy with micro adjustments and paying attention to the results. (This is also the secret to manifesting)
Patterns
As one moves through intentionality and strategy to produce consistent action, patterns will emerge.
As they do in nature…
One day moves into the next…
turning into weeks and months and seasons and years and a lifetime.
Each unique, each with the promise of change, that is only recognizable in looking back and by comparison.
The Gold Laced Jar
I’m often reminded of the Japanese concept of putting something broken back together with gold to hold it so that the repaired item is more valuable than the original.
The Japanese word for the concept of repairing broken items with gold is kintsugi (金継ぎ).
"Kin" (金) means "gold."
"Tsugi" (継ぎ) means "to join" or "to patch."
Kintsugi is a beautiful philosophy and art form where broken pottery is repaired with lacquer mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. Rather than hiding the cracks, kintsugi highlights them, embracing imperfection as part of the object's history and beauty. It reflects the idea that scars and flaws can make something even more valuable and unique, embodying resilience and transformation.
It’s intentional and strategic and looks like a mess in the beginning.
Much like life and manifesting - or creating the life you want…
You can live life intentionally and strategically, taking small actions each day to get the results you want, maybe not perfectly - nothing is perfect when you’re learning/starting, or you can simply let things happen.
"I’m often reminded of the Japanese concept of putting something broken back together with gold to hold it so that the repaired item is more valuable than the original." I like this part.
