Dear DC: Your Power Ends Where Our Consciousness Begins

The Revolution Isn’t Political—It’s Energetic

I like to contemplate on the idea that if we quit giving our energy to spaces like Washington DC that eventually it would simply disappear - while I simultaneously chose to believe there is nothing that is all good or all bad, I don't believe we should give away our power by venerating anyone outside ourselves.

In a perfect world that I created…

There would be no borders, or governments, or religious leaders/elevated religious institutions.

For twenty years I was trapped in religion in a frantic search for worth and happiness only to discover I was enough as I am.

I’m not broken.

I may not be everyone’s cup of tea but I damn sure am the fuel for lots of fires for change.

A New Season

This season of the You World Order Showcase Podcast - where we feature life, health, transformational coaches and spiritual entrepreneurs being the change they seek in the world, I’m asking the question:

What's the most significant thing in your opinion, as individuals, we can do to make an impact on how the world is going?

Asked as a mechanism for getting the conversation going - almost everyone’s answer is some version of this…

We need to get selfish.

We need a world full of people who are only interested in making the best lives for themselves.

In that way the world will heal. We need to appreciate each other for what we contribute, for the gifts that make us special.

We also need to take personal responsibility for the way things are in our own worlds as we are constantly creating them...

Hence the reason for my contemplating the disappearance of spaces and people who do not serve the collective or the individual.

I’m pretty confident that if enough of us hold the intention that Washington didn’t exist it would eventually cease to exist.

The US Was Not Created as a Democracy

We have gotten so far off track - if there ever was a track, from the basis for the formation of the country - namely a republic - you know like Greece and Rome.

(And we know how those ended)

A democracy is all about giving people what they think they want as a collective.

A republic is having representatives govern based on a collective of ideals with checks and balances.

When the country was created you had to be a landowner to vote.

Now, I’m not even sure a vote means anything.

Electing Saviors

No one we elect will save us.

And at any given time, there will be those who are happy with the “savior of the day” and irritated with the “savoir of the day”.

At the end of the day, it makes about as much difference or has as much significance in our everyday lives as the shape of the planet or it’s orientation in space.

Why not just work on being the best you, you can be?

Be kind.

Don’t worry about others who are different from you or chose to believe things that don’t align with you.

Create your ideal world…
